As FEATURED in Hey Wedding Lady

“Imagine stumbling across a medieval castle in the middle of America’s heartland – it feels like stepping straight into a fairy tale! This magical collaboration between Violet Short Photography and event planner Plum and Poppy evokes Old World charm not often found in Indiana!

The dark romance of the venue combined with an elegant palette of burgundy and peach gives this gorgeous shoot the painterly quality of a still life at every turn!Lokee Lettering designed this invitations to echo the Old World feel of the castle setting, with marbled paper in peach with gold leaf touches. The hand lettered stationery was finished off with blue silk ribbon and gold wax seals!

The bride’s dress and dreamy flowers were chosen to add a touch of warmth and romance to the stone castle. Her layered lace wedding gown from Sophia’s Bridal and Tux had a hint of peach color under the tulle, complementing the peach roses RK Florals used for the bouquet and ceremony arch!

It doesn’t take much to transform a castle into the perfect wedding venue! Plum and Poppy and RK Florals used the round tower as a focal point for the photography session, dressing the stone arch and rounded doorway in a romantic garland of ferns and flowers. The airy gold leaf invitations from earlier get a moody makeover when paired with dark wood and vintage gold decor!

The bride’s beaded shoes and a gray silk ribbon add stunning texture to this inspired invitation flatlay! The inspiration for the reception decor was a medieval feast! To make the Sweetheart Table feel as though it could be painted as a still life, Plum and Poppy and RK Florals dressed it with a silk runner, fresh fruits, and vintage gold candlesticks.

The organic approach to design gave the reception table decor an airy feel, with elegant place settings in white and gold juxtaposed against fresh fruit and whimsical spring flowers. Deep jewel tones from wine and grapes added a rich splash of burgundy to the soft colors of the pieces from A Classic Party Rental.

For dessert, The Cake Bake Shop created a croquembouche tower with spun sugar and delicate wild waxflowers!”
